14.6 kW Mitsubishi Roof Top

Importance 

Monster Media Inc. of Riverside recently installed a new 14.6 kilowatt solar power system on the roof of their building.

This is the first non-residential solar project in the City of Riverside eligible for the recently approved Riverside Public Utilities Non-Residential Solar Rebate Program.  Their rebate will total more than $44,000.

Monster Media is located at 1515 Marlborough Ave., Riverside, CA 92507

The solar power system, which is a roof mounted installation, is made up of 96 Mitsubishi 185 solar photovoltaic modules and 2 SMA 7000 inverters. After final inspection, the system will be monitored online via a SMA web box monitoring system.  This monitoring configuration will deliver system performance specifications to an online portal.

Environmental Stewardship

The system will offset 2 tons a month of CO2.This equates to taking 5 cars off the road. Each car produces 12,000 lbs/year. It will produce 2500 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy per month.

At Home

Monster Media owner, Derric Swinfard, extends his environmental stewardship at home. He has a solar panel residential system also installed by HelioPower.  It is made up of 40 Sharp 180 watt modules and 1 SMA 6000 inverter, generating approximately half the solar electricity of his commercial installation.  Derric and his wife also recycle and drive environmentally friendly vehicles.
