The system was suddenly more affordable than we had realized and we opted to take the middle path, buy at the lower price and surrender the subsidies, which were more valuable to HelioPower than to us.

Demand was high leading into the summer months and it took a little longer to get installed than we had presumed but we are now live.  When it was switched on the meter slowed noticeably, but it was a special thrill to see the meter go backwards when the A/C was not on. I noted the kilowatts produced over the first few days and compared to the original power estimate provided and it was right there. My guarantee with HelioPower will generate 57.7% of my kilowatt-hours and I estimate close to 75% of my bill from Edison will go away because it takes out the most expensive tiers.

We feel good about the experience, it will save money and we are contributing to a movement towards energy efficiency in America.
