Customer Testimonial
“Solar appealed to me for the financial benefit as well as the positive effect on our environment. Between my pool, my AC, and my grandkids, my electric bills were averaging over $400 per month!” Spagnolo says. “I had met with HelioPower representative Derek Girling along with a few other solar companies during the summer and liked HelioPower’s low pressure, consultative approach. Derek made a point to explain all the details of how the systems work and what to expect. Derek recommended a Sharp system with 33 230 Watt modules."
Sam didn’t go solar then however. “Quite frankly, although I could clearly see the returns, I wasn’t ready to make that big a commitment by buying a system”.
Fortunately for Sam, a couple months later Murrieta-based HelioPower entered into a partnership with Bay Area solar-financing innovator, SunRun. SunRun’s Residential Power Plan allows homeowners like Sam to get the immediate benefits of solar with only a $1,000 down payment resulting in a substantially lower monthly electric bill. The SunRun plan saves Sam over $200 per month! Derek Girling remembered Sam and scheduled a visit along with Ken Rahn from SunRun. Sam reviewed the program and contract and signed up.
“The SunRun agreement was straight forward and easy to understand. I felt comfortable that I had several good options for me down the road if I sell my home or wish to eventually own the system” Sam recalled.
HelioPower then started the process of reserving Sam’s rebate and permitting his installation. “The HelioPower team did a great job. They handled all the details and kept me informed during the several weeks I waited for my system to be scheduled for installation. Their employees were friendly and professional and my system was installed in just a few days.”
A few weeks after the system was online with Southern California Edison, Sam got a pleasant surprise. “I had been paying for my electricity on a level payment plan and, after I went solar, my first bill from SCE was a credit for over $300! After this winter’s rains, we’ve had a couple of weeks of sunny days and the system just cranked out the power!”
Sam also has applied for a $500 energy efficiency rebate from the City of Rancho Cucamonga to promote clean power. In his first two months, he has nearly made back his initial $1,000 investment.
“For many years I’d thought solar was a great new way to generate power and thanks to HelioPower and SunRun, I’ve now got a system on my own home!”
