Kern County’s Fifth Annual Energy Summit: Partnering for the Future in Energy

HelioPower will participate in the fifth annual Kern County Energy Summit.  The event will be hosted at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center, Wednesday, November 16, 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. 

The summit will feature Nobel Peace Prize Recipient and Keynote Speaker, Dr. Mark Jaccard- Professor, School of Resource and Environmental Management,Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Mark Jaccard is known internationally for his 2007 Nobel Peace Prize-winning work on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He has over 100 academic publications and his books have won him national accolades in Canada, including the Policy Research Institute award for best policy book (The Cost of Climate Policy, 2002), and the Donner Prize for best policy book (Sustainable Fossil Fuels, 2005). During his career, Jaccard has led the British Columbia Utilities Commission, co-chaired an international taskforce for sustainable coal use, and authored sustainable energy policy for the Global Energy Assessment. He was named 2008 Academic of the Year by the Association of British Columbia faculty members and in 2009, he was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
