Ty Jagerson

Ty Jagerson brings more than 15 years of renewable energy, technology development and venture funding experience to HelioPower. He joined HelioPower in early 2010 as part of the acquisition of Simple Energies, a renewable energy development company where he was CEO and Founder.

Prior to Simple Energies, Mr. Jagerson was a founding executive and Vice President, Corporate Development for SolFocus, Inc., a concentrating photovoltaics equipment company. At SolFocus, Mr. Jagerson’s responsibilities included project development and corporate finance, M&A, strategic partnerships and the company’s entry into new product areas and global markets. While leading corporate funding SolFocus raised $150 million in seed capital through C rounds. As VP Sales at SolFocus Ty developed projects in Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, USA, UAE, S. Africa, Chile and Australia.

Before joining SolFocus, Ty was Principal of Business Development for the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) where he led commercialization activities and strategic initiatives, including co‐founding PARC’s Cleantech Initiative and the partnership leading to the incorporation of SolFocus. Prior to PARC, Mr. Jagerson was President of PCG, a technology consulting firm based in Ukraine.

Mr. Jagerson is a frequent speaker and industry expert on solar and renewable energy topics. He is an advisor to two other solar companies, and has presented on solar technology, markets and finance at over 20 events. Mr. Jagerson holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Wesleyan University. Mr. Jagerson speaks fluent Russian and has worked professionally in over 25 countries.
