Scott Gordon
Before moving to the renewable energy sector, Scott spent 10 years as a software/systems engineer at Fujitsu, Lucent/Avaya, and several Silicon Valley start-ups. In late 2006, Scott decided to trade in his white collar for a "green" one while shopping for a solar system for his own home. Since then, Scott and his team have sold over 10 megawatts of residential solar PV systems across California and Nevada.
Scott was the driving force behind HelioPower’s first 1 Block Off the Grid (1BOG) campaign in 2009. The success of this and subsequent 1BOG campaigns have propelled HelioPower’s residential sales organization into California’s Top Ten. In late 2009, Scott forged a partnership with SunRun to offer Residential PPAs in the markets HelioPower serves. By allowing customers to go solar for as little as $1000 down, SunRun is now the financing vehicle of choice for over 60% of HelioPower’s residential customers.
Currently, Scott is traveling around California speaking about a range of topics that affect the solar industry including: The Ugly Side of Solar, The Decentralization of the Grid (Grid 3.0), Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), and Solar Energy Legislation.
Scott graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and holds several technical certifications.
