Solar for Green Homes

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a third party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council in 2000 through a consensus based process, LEED serves as a tool for buildings of all types and sizes. LEED certification offers third party validation of a project’s energy efficient and green features and verifies that the building is operating in a sustainable way!

How does a solar power system installation contribute to LEED certification? Green homes utilize many environmental aspects including energy saving and generation. Once energy efficiency strategies are utilized, green homes further reduce our dependence on conventional energy sources as they generate some or all of their energy needs through alternative energy sources like the sun, wind, geothermal energy and biomass.
